Be bold and daring. That is so easy to say, eh? But truly, can you imagine your life if you start being bold and daring? I bet you will see a lot of difference if you start performing things that you are so frightened to do or want to do yet you are procrastinating. I dare you.

Let me start with their definitions, according to dictionary.com, bold is an adjective that means demonstrating a willingness to take risks, confidence and courage. On the other hand, daring means audaciously bold or adventurous. Both are extraordinary words and I believe we should be applying them to our lives. However, I see many people shun the idea of doing things because of so many reasons such as, "I don't think I can do it" or, "I don't think I can do it nor have the skills."Then they start talking about the competitions out there the market is tough, other people are doing it already and let them do it. I will also add, why should I be doing it and the worse, I have no time to do it and my life is too busy. These alibis are limiting you. I am not saying that I am bold and daring myself but I try to incorporate them into my daily life. Require much effort and also motivation.

Well, I am being fierce here!

So why do we declare those things? It puzzles me because going back to the first question. Can you imagine your life if you just start doing something, dare to plunge forward even if there are many risks involved? I get it that we have our traits and personalities that might impede our ability to be courageous. You can be shy or uneasy. In this article from Marelisa Fabrega, "How to be bold, daring and audacious," she said, "stop being so scared of looking foolish. She is right, we are constantly terrified that we will look a fool if we stumble and fail with every endeavour we are doing. However, thinking of other people's thoughts and comments is not going to be helpful in the end.

A classic example is me, I write, I know I am a writer inside me. To begin with, I told myself I should not create a blog website because everyone is doing it already plus I am so late in the game. Like, hello early 2000. Nonetheless, I moved forward with my plan in late 2018 to start thinking of topics on what I should be writing and also the content of my blog. It was a mix when I started. I unexpectedly had makeup stuff early on until I found my groove to discuss things are close to me such as self-development and my journey. I was nervous to put it out there because my worry was who would read them. How would I engage the people reading them? What if they don't like it and I will be criticized? It all boils down to one thing, the initial step, and yes it is so important.

I will quote Charles Bukowski, "If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start."

Now I am posing this question, what do you have to lose? Start with little steps, I listened to a podcast episode entitled "The incredible power of 1% margin for Improvement" from the OLD podcast. It says we should improve 1% daily to achieve our goals. I know that percentage is so small but that is something that we can bank on as the day goes by. Going back to my blogging, I started writing with 200-300 words because I was having difficulty expanding my thoughts. Currently, I can easily do my shitty first draft in an hour with 600-800 words. Of course, I do not want it to be longer, right. My goal was to write an entry with a length that is easy to read. This move helped me to realize a dream. My audience is not big, but I am putting myself out there. I am in the arena if I may quote Brene Brown.

Smile while being bold and daring!

We have a choice, and life is all about the choices we make every day that shapes our destiny. I think we should also remember it will not be easy but it will get better as time goes by. You will fail and that is ok, too. Go ahead and stumble, fall flat on your face but that is the only way to learn and move forward. Plus, that is the best time to be bold and daring because you know that things are starting to go in the direction of your dreams. Start by completing an online course, pick up a guitar to learn an instrument, learn French and try kickboxing (yes, I am talking to myself.). Surround yourself with people who will inspire you and also add some bold, gutsy, daring people to your life. Get out of your comfort zone, I am so out of my comfort zone right now with my new job, but I am going to keep pushing. Go all the way. I will quote Charles Bukowski, "If you're going to try, go all the way. Otherwise, don't even start."

So, my friends, I dare you! Be bold and daring. If I may add, be audacious, too.
