It has been over a month since I have revealed that I had a job opportunity in Southeastern BC. Well, lo and behold. I am here.

Too many things had happened since March 13 when I wrote that last blog entry but I am happy to say that I am done with the unpacking portion of my move. I tell you, it was a huge move. Well, not as big as my move from the Philippines but this is still huge as I have more stuff with me that I accumulated throughout the years. When I say stuff, I meant shoes and clothes. Who cares about furniture. I am kidding. I had a little bit of them, and I am very grateful for my jug of monster who helped me with my move. I could not have done it without him.

Settling in and reclaiming my space

If I can backtrack, finding a place was also an atrocious process. I am thankful for friends who introduce me to another friend to help me out with the viewing of the place. I was so nervous because you know how it goes when you want to rent a place. You have competition. The prayers I did, oh my, finally, in the end, I was the successful applicant.

Here come the packing and the moving day. The amount of time I had packed my stuff was enormous. I did not have any time off in between to be able to focus on packing my things plus the fact that I had to squeeze time to see friends. Do not get me started with the tears because the waterworks are going to start once more. I managed to finish them, and we had the moving day set up. I exercised a lot of patience the last month, but the f-bombs were definitely flying. Imagine moving to the third floor of your new building with no elevator and just stairs. Just stairs. Sure was good cardio but it ain't good for my knee.

Stop in Osoyoos

Part two of the move which meant I would be driving alone was the saddest. My friends' support was amazing, and I was grumpy on the first two weeks here because I was exhausted and tired. I managed to start working on a Thursday which I find odd but it was a very good diversion since I was walking in a sea of boxes, and doing it in the next four days would drive me nuts. I worked and took care of the boxes after and on the weekend. Even though I am saying I am done with the boxes, I am not done organizing my things here. There is still work to do but my kitchen and bed are set up, that is all that matters to me. I have some space now in the living room and yes I am sitting on the floor all the time because I have no couch at the moment. Overall, it is coming together.

My takeaway with this move- Patience and Confidence.

I have not explored my new place yet. I have gone for walks and have gone through the important places I need to go to. Such as grocery and pharmacy. Also, I have been introduced already to newfound friends. Enjoyed the time in the lake and yes, it was a fiesta with the food. The hospitality was so welcoming and it was truly awesome.

Now that I am starting to settle, I am still adjusting, to be honest, and I am overwhelmed but learning to be patient with myself is so important. Plus being confident and knowing that I got this. Did any of you have done a move? What virtues did you learn? My takeaway with this move- Patience and Confidence.
